South Side General Baptist Church

Exalting Christ by Equipping People to Evangelize the Lost South Side General Baptist provides a blended worship service with a focus on exalting Christ by equipping people to evangelize the lost. Led by Pastor Jeff, South Side promotes a church wide community, a community not only inside the church, but outside, through active involvement in local activities and foreign missions. The Church provides a variety of activities and groups for all ages to participate in throughout the week. They are listed to the right. A Word From the Pastor The apostle Paul is a wonderful example of someone who moved through life with an unwavering faith in God’s ability rather than his own. He regularly faced imprisonment, persecution, endless travels, public debates, and personal insults. He explains in Philippians 4:11–12, “I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.” He continues in verse 13 with the cornerstone of his confidence, “I can do all things through Him (Christ) who strengthens me.” Paul is not saying that he has the ability to do absolutely anything he wants to do. As well, he does not say that God has given him full authority to decide what should and should not be done. God wants all his people to wake up in the morning ready to face the day with confidence and to say, “I can do everything I need to today as long as it is in God’s will and His strength is within me.” As the Pastor of South Side General Baptist, I pray that with God’s strength that I am able to Exalt Christ, and Equip His People, so they can spread His word by Evangelizing the lost and also be able to do all things through Christ.
